The University is seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer, Associate Professor or Professor of Education with research specialism in Science Education who can contribute to undergraduate and post graduate teaching and supervision.

The successful applicant will contribute to the teaching and administration requirements of the School, and in particular the primary and/or secondary initial teacher education programme, maintain and develop original scholarship and research and undertake professional and community service activities relevant to the profession or discipline. Evaluative visiting of students on practicum is required. A contribution to leadership will be expected in accordance with the level of appointment.

The appointee will be expected to teach in a number of papers in the Faculty’s programmes in Science Education, as well as contribute to the teaching of papers on the professional practice of teaching including the innovative uses of digital technologies for curriculum, pedagogy and assessment. Applicants should indicate their particular discipline areas of strength.

A research record of sustained excellence and a recognised contribution to the academic field at a national and international level are essential. You will also have demonstrated success in undergraduate teaching including the ability to lecture to large numbers and conduct small group seminars and tutorials effectively, along with the ability to contribute to the graduate and postgraduate teaching programme. A PhD in a relevant discipline is essential.
